The world keeps turning
Nov. 26th, 2012 10:26 pmI survived Thanksgiving! It was actually a really nice weekend. For the first time in probably 5 years I had all of Thanksgiving weekend off. 4 days to spend with family and be lazy or productive.
Thanksgiving itself was spent at my mom's. We smoked the turkey on my brother's smoker, I made a gluten free pumpkin spice cake and stuffing, and everyone else chipped in with various foods. It was lovely and low key, and then we sat in the hot tub for a while, which was perfect.
Friday I put up my Christmas decorations, did laundry, vacuumed, cleaned up a bit, and just had a very nice day. Then Saturday I spent with a friend who I haven't seen for a while. He's been teaching in Japan with his wife, but they're moving back to the states. He came ahead to get a flat and a job and she'll be coming back in a few months. It was lovely to catch up with him and just have fun.
Work today was work. Tomorrow is going to be crazy, as will the rest of the year, probably. Thursday I go in for my pelvic ultrasound, yay. They found something on one of my ovaries with the CT scan, so I'm hoping that it's nothing more than a cyst. I'm also hoping that this the reason for the pain, and they can finally do something about it. Because, yeah, not in my head.
Anyway, I hope you're all doing well and having a good week. Whatever you celebrate, I hope December is a good month for us all.

Date: 2012-11-27 02:47 pm (UTC)And it sounds good that they could discover an ovarian cyst early. 36 years ago I had to have emergency surgery for one on the verge of rupturing--and had no idea what was wrong or why I had to be rushed to the ER in an ambulance. Things are a lot better these days.
((hugs))

Date: 2012-12-01 06:11 am (UTC)I honestly just want to know what's wrong with me. If I know, I think I can deal with anything. I'm glad that I got the tests done, even if it was a pain, lol.

Date: 2012-12-01 06:12 am (UTC)I'm hoping that this will give them an idea, one way or the other, of what to do to treat me. It's frustrating having to repeat myself over and over and convince them it's not in my head. Hopefully I'll know soon.

Date: 2012-11-28 11:34 am (UTC)Last two weeks in December are free of any kind of obligations. So - I think I will relax a bit, have some chocolate and watch 'A Game of Shadows' again :)
Have a lovely month yourself!!! And crossed fingers for your ultrasound.
