Had my meeting with boss and Boss. It went about as well as can be expected.  I did have to fight the urge to reach over and smack one of them when Boss gave me the job description with certain parts highlighted. Even after boss had admitted that I had been getting conflicting information and often told one thing and then a totally different thing.  It was very frustrating, and they hinted that this job may not be for me.  Gee, thanks.  Just what an employee wants to hear.

Anyway, I'm not going to sweat it.  I'm doing the best I can, and if that isn't good enough, then they can let me go.  I have some other things I'm looking at, and I'm starting to send out feelers.  What will be, will be, and all I can do is my best.  Besides, if they keep this up, things aren't going to change and they're going to be losing the new girl, too.  High turnover doesn't exactly look great for them.

But enough of that.  Now for the fannish silliness.

The local sci-fi, fantasy convention is next weekend.  I'm going as a hobbit, lol.  Usually I go in my belly dancer costume, but this year I'm doing something different since my usual belly dance partner is moving away on Wednesday.  So, hobbit it is!  I have my dress, which I just have to hem a bit, as it's slightly too long.  I have hobbit feet slippers, which I adore, and I'm waiting for my ears to arrive.   And tonight...

Tonight, I am braiding my hair in several small braids as a test run to see how curly and manageable it will be tomorrow.  I have really straight hair, so making it curly is a pain.  I haven't done small braids before, so cross your fingers it turns out good!  I'm really looking forward to the convention, as it's usually a weekend of completely shameless geekiness.  Lots of bad food, loud music, parties, and people dressed outlandishly.  And if the cops aren't called at least once, it really isn't Radcon.

Not that I ever get involved in the seedier parts of it.  I'm at times depressingly straight laced.  I've never done drugs, been drunk in public, or done anything I would regret my mom finding out about.   Which is fine with me!  But it does make watching other people do those things interesting.

So, yes, braids, then bed, and sleeeeep!!  Oh, sleep, I love you so much.  I can never get enough of you.

Have a good weekend all! I'll try to post pictures tomorrow so you can see how the hair turned out.  Keep your fingers crossed!

How lovely that you have a nice geeky weekend to look forward to!

Sounds like me.

I hope things work out for you on the job front! Unreliable bosses seem to be an epidemic these days.

Good luck with the braids! My hair is so coarse and frizzy-like that it doesn't braid very well.

I'm glad you have something fun to look forward to. :)

What unprofessional people you are working for! I hope it all works out in the best possible way for you.

And best of luck with the braids! One of my sisters has always had very, very, stick-straight hair, and in high school she tried washing her hair before bedtime and (carefully!) braiding it in small braids when wet, so when she woke up she'd have curly/wavy hair. And it worked! Only, in a few hours, the waves sort of melted away and her hair was straight again...I hope your hair is more cooperative! :)
