Thank God it's Sunday

piploverThe cats woke me up this morning at 5:22. I looked at the clock and thought, "Oh, shit, I'm gonna be late for work!" So I dived out of bed, ran into the kitchen to feed the cats, and was trying to frantically think what I was going to wear for the day when I thought, "How could I have not changed my alarm back after getting up for church yest- Oh."
Then it hit me that today was Sunday and I could, indeed, go back to sleep. Thank God it wasn't Monday, lol.
Yesterday I went to an antique fair. I almost purchased a Women's Companion cookbook from 1943. Mostly because of the introduction, which said something almost exactly like, "We are in wartime conditions. Shortages may happen. Take it in stride." I love how it's a politely worded "get over it!"
It was $39, so I refrained. I did, however, purchase two vintage Playboys. I couldn't stop laughing at myself as I did so. Now I have to get some sleeves for them so I can display them on my coffee table.
Things like this do nothing to dissuade people that I'm not gay. I mean, truly, I'm not, but even if I were, it wouldn't change that I just love vintage stuff like this. If they had Playgirl I would have bought those, too! As it was, I took them over to my mom's where we had a laugh over them. A good day.
Not much else going on. I had an interview a few weeks ago, but didn't get the job. I'm just going to keep trying, and hope that the perfect job will come along soon. In the meantime, I'm continuing to save up for a house, and in about a month or so I'll have enough so that I can start looking in earnest again. This time I'll be prepared, and when I find the right house I can dive right in!
