Hello, all!

I'm sorry I haven't been around much.  I'm rather overwhelmed at the moment, and honestly haven't had the energy or the brain power to do much posting.

I signed the papers for my house two weeks ago, and am waiting for everything to fall into place.  If everything goes according to plan, I'll get the keys on Dec 20th.   I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out, but at the same time, I'm finding myself looking around my flat thinking, "Holy crap, I have a lot of stuff to pack!"

I'm planning on painting the living room before I move everything in, but I'm not going to be scrambling to get it done. With it being so close to Christmas, I don't want to stress myself out anymore than I am.

Speaking of which, I'm not going to be sending Christmas cards out this year. I just don't have the money, time, or energy. I'm sorry. I really love sending cards, but I'm so drained right now I think it would just be too much. But I hope you all know I'm thinking of you and wish you only the best and happiest of holidays, whatever you celebrate.

Part of the reason I'm so low on energy lately is that I started taking my RA meds two weeks ago.  The first dose I didn't really have any problems, except that it made me itch the first few days.  I took the second dose on Saturday and have felt sick and queasy since.  My plans for tonight consist of hot soup, ginger tea, and a hot bath.  After I pack a bit.  My goal is to pack one to two boxes a night.  That way I'm not rushing trying to get everything done, but it should be well on the way to being finished by the time I'm ready to move.

Sorry if this post was so disorganized.  My brain has been like a sieve the past few days.  I can barely hold a thought!  Stay warm, everyone, and be safe.

*Hugs flist*

Definitely don't worry about cards this year. You have enough going on! I hope the RA meds start to work, and the side effects ease off. You deserve to be pain-free for as long as possible.

Good luck with the house! I know your brain must be whirling with everything that has to be done. Just moving from one apartment to another is a big deal.

I hope the meds start to work, too. I'll have to be on them for about a year, but I'm hopeful that it will be worth it.

I'm trying not to panic myself thinking about the move, lol. So far, I'm only mildly successful!

Oh, you got a house! Mazel tov!!!

You may feel like your brain is disorganized, but your packing and moving sound well-planned out indeed. I hope your adjust to the medications quickly and everything goes reasonably smoothly.

Thank you! I'm hoping that once things settle down I'll feel better. This month is just going to stressful no matter what. My dad's celebration of life is on the 14th, and then moving and Christmas. Eep!

Oh YAY! You got the house! *grin*

Moving in over the holidays can be a hassle (we moved in here four days before Christmas in 2006), but just think you'll be starting the New Year in a new home! That's just got to be a good sign!

(((hugs)))

I'm really looking forward to it! It's not the ideal time to be moving, but everything has just kind of fallen into place, so I'm doing my best to go along with the flow.

I should be at my old address through Christmas, but once I know for sure about the house, I'll send you that address!

Moving is notoriously a stressful time and you would be abnormal if you didnlt find it dire
but hoping it can go as well as is expected anyway

I Shall be doing it again for the umpteenth time later next year and am not loolking forward to it at all.

but once it is done = then that is a good feeling enough to compensate I think :)

hoping 2014 will be a good year for you

I'm both excited and terrified about the move. I think I've packed four boxes so far, as I've been sick the past few days. But hopefully this week I'll get back on track, and my mom is going to help me as well, when it gets closer.

I hope your move goes smoothly, too. It's no fun, but it is rather thrilling to start a place!

I hope 2014 is a great year you!

Hello!

RA Meds

Hi Pip- Don't think we've talked on John and LEstrade's blogs, but I do know you from over there. I have often thought we might talk sometime because of your occasional comment over there about disability and living with changes and chronic pain. I struggle with those same situations.

Wanted to comment specifically on your RA meds; don't know what you are taking, but methotrexate can definitely make you sick, especially during early days. If you are taking MTX you might talk to your DR about getting a srip for Promethazine. It's a gel that you rub on your wrist and it's amazing! My MTX made me quite ill, especially with dose increases, and the gel just saved me.

Best wishes to you; perhaps we can talk sometime if you like. I am setting up my own blog over on blogger; there is nothing there yet, but if you don't mind how ugly it is right now, and want to talk to me I will figure out how to link it.

Hello! Yes, I am taking MTX. Right now I'm on the lowest dose possible, as I'm usually really sensitive to medications and they wanted to see how I handle it. I've had to skip the most recent dose as I've come down with a cold the past few days, which is annoying but I can't say I really mind. It will give me a chance to build my immune system up again before I tear it down!

I would love to chat! I don't have a blog except this one, but we can always email, or I can chat with you on yours once you get it all set up.
