Went to the range today for the 249 machine gun. This was the fourth time they sent me, and I would have qualified this time, too, if my weapon had not jammed. Grrrr. That means I get to go back in about another month and try to qualify again.
That machine gun wieghs about 20 pounds, and is almost as tall as I am, lol. Why do they insist on having the smallest people in the Company carry them?
It was over a 100 degrees today, Farenhieght, I don't know what that would be in Celcious. But it was damn hot, especially since we were wearing full battle rattle most of the day. It took us 3 hours just to get through the first 2 firing lines.
I ended up falling asleep under the camoflauge for about an hour, since it was so hot and we weren't doing anything except waiting for another chance to shoot that didn't happen. I now have an intersting sunburn on my face, lol. I was soooo filthy when I finally got back to my room! I had dirt all over my face and hands, and not to be nasty about it, I smelled something aweful! How did our dear boys stand being around each other on the Quest? Lol!
We didn't get off work until almost 6, so I am going to shine my boots real quick and then head to bed. The new medicine the doctor gave me actually works, and I slept about 8 hours last night for the first time I can remember in almost a month. I don't want to take the pills too often, but I figure if I take one tonight and tomorrow, then I just won't take any on the weekend and see how that works.

It's good to hear you finally have medicines that work and that you can sleep the whole night :)

and 100F = approx. 38 C and that is really hot (I dislike every temperature above 30 C)
