Infinity War

piploverI saw Infinity War twice this weekend.
I went in slightly spoiled by accident, so I had an inkling about some of what was going to happen. I'm putting this under a cut for massive spoilers.
I went in with the expectation that everyone was going to die, and yet when Thanos snapped his fingers, I literally gasped. I had not been expecting that. Like, they totally went there! And now we have to wait a year to see how it's going to be resolved. Ugh!
I loved the little domestic intro with Dr. Strange and Wong, how Strange was dressed in ordinary clothes to go the deli and Wong was wanting a tuna melt. But as soon as Bruce punched through the skyline, the cloak was right there and Strange was back in costume. Just a little thing but it added so much.
And the cloak! OMG, I love that cloak. It's totally it's own character.
I thought the story was seamlessly put together, which was amazing considering the cast and the different arcs being assembled.
The only real issue I had was the fact that they didn't simply cut Thanos' arm off. Like, Mantis had him down, just do it! Tony had lasers on his suit that could cut through a spaceship, it would have taken seconds to cut the arm off. Brutal? Yes, but it's the fate of the universe!
Also, I wanted to smack Peter for waking Thanos up. Come on, Peter, you had to wait one minute and then you could have thrashed him to your heart's content! Gah!
Overall, I loved it. I want to see it again next weekend. What are your thoughts?
