This isn't very good, but I was just letting my mind ramble. Please excuse bad cadence and rhyme.

Soflty in the night,
Above the world below,
Stars speak amongst themselves,
And speak of things they know.

From tired little boys,
And sleepy angel girls,
To wishes made,
And comets glowing swirls.

And above the sound
Of the stars lovely voice
One can be heard,
To make a choice.

I am a little star,
It says to itself,
But there are so many,
I am hidden on a shelf.

How am I, this little star,
To help those on earth,
Who dream and wish and then decide,
All that shows great worth?

And then the little voice continued,
Soft as a petal's sigh,
I shall fall to the earth
And there I shall die.

For in my little death,
I pass along a light
To those who in the darkness,
Are blind and are afright.

And so it fell, without a sound,
And down to earth it came,
Landing on a little hill,
Soul all aflame.

Those who gazed into the night,
And watched that little star fall
Felt their hearts lifted anew,
And felt a sudden call.

To the hill they raced,
With hearts abeating strong
And wondered what a thing they saw,
And gazed at it for long and long.

A little light, upon the hill
That glowed and sparkled bright
For all the world to see,
That wonderful odd night.

That little light burns there still,
A hope to all who see,
That in the darkest of the night,
One light is all you need.

To light the darkest hour,
And guide those on their way,
For even the smallest of us,
Can keep the dark at bay.

That one star fell that night
Long and long ago
But now I know where to look,
And know just where to go.

That's beautiful. And who cares about the cadence and rhyme? It's from the heart.
