I am pissed. I am beyond pissed. I am honestly, truly, and utterly enraged. The barracks manager went through the storage cages yesterday and cut all the locks, then put slips under our doors telling us our stuff was unsecure, and needed to be moved to an assinged cage. I went down this morning, and found some of my stuff stolen. I was lucky. Other people's thing were strewn across the floor, broken, messed up, and tossed around. This is an outrage. I have already filed a complaint with my 1SG, and am filling out a statement of charges. But there was no excuse for this bullshit. There was no warning, no timeline. They just cut the locks and said, "Oh, by the way..."
I am truly pissed, and you better believe someone will pay for this.

Wow, that sounds utterly irrational of them! I think the Army must be a very strange place indeed.

*hugs you a lot*

It is. Strange and without common sense. Thanks for the hugs, I need them today. When I went back to put a new lock on the cage, I found that my stuff had been gone through again!

The barracks manager should be charged with vandalism. Even if they felt there was a hell of a good reason, they at least owe you an explanation.

And what the hell legal excuse does the barracks manager have for cutting the locks in the first place? Have you talked to the AG's office? I'd sure as hell put together a list of everything that has been stolen and see if it can't be taken out of the barracks manager's paycheck. You had your stuff secured. If he came along and unsecured it and then didn't leave an alternate form of security in place (like a guard) then he's responsible for your losses.

That's what I'm saying. I made sure the MPs were brought in, and CID. I filled out a statement, and made them put a guard on the storage area, because when I came back from buying a new lock, I found out that even more of my stuff had been stolen. When Monday comes, you had better beleive that I am going to do everything in my power to make certain that the barracks manager is no longer the baracks manager.

Try to get everyone else who lost things to theft or damage to fill out reports too. And make special note if anything that was stolen was an issued item! That'll wake up the Army even if they don't care about your personal stuff.

That is really cruel! Why are some people like that? What satisfaction do they get? I`m glad that you found most of your things. i hope those that got stolen wasn`t anything really valuable.
