This is from a flyer that was passed out at the Main Gate. I find this really annoying and amusing at the same time.
Activists will be protesting in front of the Main Gate on Sunday, 21 November 2004 from approximately 0930-1230 hours. I direct all service members currently stationed or attending duty at Fort Huachuca, to make all attempts at avoiding contact with the activists and to avoid the are of the Main Gate, or any other location the activists may move to... I also encourage service members' families, DA civilians, and their family members to avoid contact with the activists and to avoid the location of the protest.
Remember, part of our mission is to secure the right of our citizens to express their opinions, avoiding confrontation will encourage the peaceful exercise of that right.
We fully respect the right of Americans to assemble and express their opinions under the First Amendment.
The Army is a value-based institution and trains soldiers to conduct themselves in accordance with the Laws of War.
Ft. Huachuca is the home of the U.S. Army Intellignece Center and School. The Center does not condone - and has never condoned - any of the misbehavior witnessed at Abu Ghraib.
The Army has taken and will continue to take measures to preclude detainee abuse.
Basically, if it weren't for us soldiers, those protestors would not have the right to protest us being here, lol. Oh, well. I guess there will always be stupid people in this world. If they want to protest the treatment of evil bastards who deserve whatever they get, they can go right ahead and do so. But don't expect me not to make fun of them for doing so.
