Kitties have killed the tree. No, really...it's so dead. The only way I am going to be able to keep it up is if I take everything off and start from scratch. Sigh. I want to be mad at them, I really do. I mean, its not like I enjoy waking up early in the morning to the sound of my ornanments breaking all over the carpet....without a vacume to clean it up. Grumble grumble.
But the kittes are just too damn cute.
Oh, well.

Our Spike and Willow did that one Christmas. Came home from school and there was the Christmas tree all over the floor, and two cats which were of course completely innocent in these events, because nothing with eyes so big could possible be guilty of a crime.

*LOL*

Our kitties never killed ours, but its probably been 20 years since we've had a tree-skirt, as they thought those were wonderful to pee on. I suppose since we are currently kitty-less, we could get one this year.

The same may be said of hobbits ... perhaps it will help to think that had you hobbits instead of kitties, they would not only have broken the ornaments and killed the tree, but probably have tried to eat it. See - you're better off with kitties!

I understand your pain... (see user pic)

The only thing that I've found helps is bolting the tree stand to a 4 by 4 foot square piece of plywood. At least then when the kitties climb the tree I know it won't topple over and smush them.

They just can't resist the seasonal kitty gym, ya know?
