Head - meet desk!
Jun. 18th, 2009 05:07 pmI got this litter at the store that's supposed to detect if a cat has a UTI. Since Rodney has been peeing in the same spot for about a month, I thought I would see if it would show anything. I got a disposable litter box and put the stuff down right next to the spot where he's been peeing on the carpet.
He walked over, sniffed it a few times... Then tried to eat it.
*Head desk!*
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is my cat, who does the equivalent of eating glue in class.
*Sigh*

If this has been going on for a month, you need to find out asap, before it turns into something worse up the line, like a kidney infection.
By all means, try the new litter, but if you can get a sample tonight and get it to your vet tomorrow, it'll speed up getting your kitty better sooner. Even if he does pee in the UTI litter, your vet's gonna want a sample.
(I've noticed that my kitties tend to pee/use the litterbox after meals, so you might want to time accordingly. Save the house arrest time.)

Two years later, this little moment of hilarity is still a thrice-weekly event. Enough so that regular visitors hear the thump and say "Did your cat just tip off the rocker again?"
I think it's kind of an idiot-savant thing because he can also open doors, drawers and most cabinets.
Weird,
Bronwyn
