It confused me at first because he made it clear that he didn't really want a relationship. But then he started acting as though I had hurt his feelings. So... Gah, boys are stupid sometimes.
And you are right, "benefits" complicate friendships, though I had hoped that we were both mature enough to handle those complications. I guess I was wrong.
