Rumors running rampant

Well, I just heard quite an amusing rumor. One of my friends pulled me aside as I was heading out to my doctor's appointment, and told me that he had had several people aproach him with this rumor:
Apparently, he is sleeping with me, and I am carrying his child!
We both started laughing as he told me this, because, 1) we barely ever see each other, except to say hi while at work. 2) I have not been to his room in over three months, and I was always with another friend when I did go up. And 3) the shear number of people who had been spreading this rumor were rediculous.
I am not bothered by this at all, even though I must admit to being a bit put out at being thought pregnant. After all, I am not that fat!
However, after living a year in Korea, where a female could not even talk to a guy without them automatically sleeping together, I became used to rumors about me sleeping around. I realized a long time ago that people will talk no matter what you do, and if you just ignore them the rumors go away on their own.
But it was nice for a good laugh!

It`s too bad for those who put out the rumor though, not having anything else to do, I mean.

One of my colleagues was applying for a new job, and she didn`t get it becaus of a rumor like this. Some people!

that's okay, Pip- my grandmother (who sadly is suffering from a bit of dementia) has told my family that I am sleeping with everyone there from the male nurse to the old dude down the hall who's on oxygen...this apparently is her revenge for my not coming to see her more than once a week.
sigh. I had no idea I had such prowess.

Heh. Welcome to the wonderful world of the Army Girl. I have been linked to both single girls in my company (Welcome to the 82nd Boys Club) if only because I hung out with them a bunch.

Even the married woman couldn't get away from rumors. She got pregnant when she was in Afghanistan, so everyone was trying to speculate who the father was.

She was deployed with her fucking husband.

I mean REALLY. The double standard annoys me.

Yeah, I know what you mean. While I was in Korea, apparently I was sleeping with half the company. I didn't realize I had so much stamina! It used to bother me at first, but then I just got over it. Now it's rather funny. But I do think it's unfair that just because you say hi to someone in the hallways everyone starts thinking you're sleeping together. Sigh. Can't wait to see what happens when we get to the Big Beach. I'm sure the rumors will be even more fantastic.
